IBJ’s 20 in their Twenties photo shoot was hosted over two days in August at the VisionLoft Events space at The Stutz.

Co-owners Julie and Dan Johnston created VisionLoft Events to offer modern, creative event spaces where people can collaborate or celebrate. VisionLoft has designed two meeting and wedding spaces downtown— one on the first floor of The Stutz, 1060 N. Capitol Ave., and another on Massachusetts Avenue.

At the Stutz location, a vibrant moss wall greets visitors who enter from the courtyard. The bright, open space is painted almost entirely white, accented with gold and black hand-painted flower murals. Glass globe light fixtures are accented with draping greenery and natural light streams in through the wall of windows. The space also has a bridal suite, bar and fireplace area where guests can mingle and relax.

Neighboring tenants including Patachou, Amelia’s and Julieta Taco Shop. The VisionLoft space has easy street access as well as several nearby parking options.

IBJ is grateful to the VisionLoft Events team for its hospitality.•

TUCKER BORN

“The Expanse” series, by James S.A. Corey. “It’s near-future, hard sci-fi, and what I love is its constant optimism in the face of increasingly adverse conditions from the core characters. One of its major themes is to always take the next right step, even if it’s not the most perfect, fully fleshed-out move.”

KYLIE STINE

“Atlas of the Heart,” by Brené Brown. “It celebrates our capacity to feel and gives language to emotions we struggle to name. It helped me better understand both myself and the people around me. The cover art is also gorgeous, making it the perfect coffee table book.”

DERION SEARCEY

“The Audacity of Hope,” by Barack Obama. “It was so intriguing to hear about the experience of a man who made history throughout our country.”

KENZIE ANDERS

“Die With Zero,” by Bill Perkins. “The book completely changed the way I think about life and the purpose of money. Having experienced significant loss in my family, I’ve learned that time is our most valuable resource and that tomorrow is never guaranteed. It reminds me to invest in experiences, travel often, gather my family together whenever I can and create memories that will far outlast anything I could buy.”
