Adding to the life science corridor

For years, dreamers have envisioned a life sciences crescent stretching from West Lafayette down Interstate 65 to Indianapolis, then along State Road 37 to Bloomington.

The thinking was, this corridor would take advantage of Indiana and Purdue universities and IUPUI as well as resources Indianapolis has to offer.

The life sciences are budding in all three places. Now The Reporter in Lebanon has a story saying economic development thinkers in Boone County are starting a committee to find a way to get in on the act.

Lebanon, being about half way between Indianapolis and Lafayette, would be a natural place for people from both towns to establish ventures, the visionaries say. The availability of the new AllPoints at Anson mixed-use development south of Lebanon might help attract them, too.

Would it work for Boone County to try to capitalize on the life sciences?

  • Now there's a phrase: economic development thinkers in Boone County.

The same thinking illegally attempted to hand over millions to Cabela's.

Government needs to get out of the business world.
  • um, Greenwood is in JOHNSON county, not BOONE county.
