pizzaCouple of pizza-related nuggets:
  • A new pizza restaurant called ZA is planned for the former Slinky women's clothing store near 62nd Street and College Avenue in Broad Ripple. Plans call for the restaurant to take about 800 square feet at 801 Broad Ripple Ave.

  • Monical's Pizza has filed plans to open a new restaurant at Glendale Town Center. The Illinois-based chain, which is taking about 3,900 square feet, already has locations in Fishers, Carmel and Traders Point.

  • America's Incredible Pizza Co. is plans to take over a former Kroger grocery store next to County Line mall for a pizza buffet and entertainment center. It's the first Indianapolis area location for the Missouri-based chain.

      Aren't there already three establishments (Marco's, Bazbeaux's, and Hot Box) that specialize in pizza within 300 feet of 810 Broadripple Ave? And aren't there also umpteen different bars on the street that have pizza on the menu (including OPT and Union Jacks who are well known for it)?

      Seems like a long shot.

      Dana, there's also all the chain places at the other end of BR Ave (by Glendale, where the other new place is going): Pizza Hut x2, Domino's, Papa Murphy's, Papa John's, Donato's, Fazoli's.

      How many more pizzaria's can one metro area absorb? When in Greenwood, try Hometowne Pizza. 1 Location.....excellent pizza.

      Monical's is different than the rest of the chains! You need to try it. Extremely thin crackery type crust with generous toppings. I grew up on this pizza and it's in a class by itself. Please try it... you'll be glad you did! Several people who haven't had it before and have tried have become big fans!

      I can't wait for America's Incredible Pizza to open. It's location is right behind Movies 8 on the southside less than a block north of County Line Rd. I will be able to walk to this place with my grandkids.

      Monical's.....home of the Salty tasting pizza. If you like licking salt, you will love this pizza. I still want my twenty five bucks for that mistake.

      Some new pizza places donwtown / Center Twp would be super.

      America's Incredible Pizza? Somehow, I suspect the quality of this pizza might be very believable.

      Best pizza in town: Maria's in Fountain Square.

      ZA will be selling pizza by the slice,making their own dough and sauces,staying open late and providing something Broad Ripple needs....a really GOOD,locally owned pizza.

      Having just moved back to Indy after spending a year in KC there is one thing about KC I really miss. SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza. Wow that place is good.

      Michael, isn't Bazbeaux locally owned? I know for certain it's GOOD. And pizza by the slice just doesn't, to this well-over-20-something, sound very high quality. Not that I won't try it, I pretty much love all pizza.

      I heard today that Greek's will let you bring your dog onto the outdoor deck to eat. This will be excellent news to some, bad to others!
