[In response to Bill Benner’s Sept. 13 column] I hope the owners and players take into account, while contemplating a lockout, the effect on the fans. I have not watched a full major league baseball game since shortly after their strike. Stopped watching then and lost interest—never gained it back. They think it couldn’t happen to football, but I disagree. The key is whether it is smart business to take the chance.
