Federal officials will be watching elections in Indiana and across the country next Tuesday for complaints of voter fraud or voting rights abuses.
The U.S. attorneys' office in Indianapolis says that Assistant U. S. Attorney Joe H. Vaughn will be in charge of handling complaints in the southern half of Indiana while polls are open Tuesday. The FBI also will have special agents available to receive allegations of election fraud or discrimination.
The Election Day effort is part of a program begun eight years ago by the Justice Department.
