Vox Global, a national strategic communications and public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., recently opened an Indianapolis office.

Mike Marker, who most recently led Vox’s public affairs consulting work for AT&T in Indiana and Kentucky, was hired to head the Indianapolis office. Marker was instrumental in lobbying for passage of the Indiana Telecom and Video Reform Act.

“We see a lot of opportunity in Indianapolis, and we are thrilled to have someone of Mike’s caliber leading our team in the Midwest,” said Robert Hoopes, president of Vox Global. “Our current and future clients will benefit considerably from Mike’s deep understanding of Indiana’s issues, media markets and key influencers.”

Before joining Vox, Marker worked in New York and Chicago and managed corporate communications programs for several clients of Ruder-Finn and Fleishman-Hillard, including Citibank MasterCard and Visa, Discover Card, Lands’ End, McDonald’s Corp., SBC Communications and Wisconsin Energy. Marker started his career as a reporter with the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel and is one of Vox Global’s lead media trainers.
