Cable TV giant Comcast Corp. has notified the state of Indiana that it plans to eliminate 57 customer-retention employees in its Fishers office by the end of the year, but also plans to add 37 customer-service workers during the same time period.

In a note dated Sept. 22, Comcast said it would also relocate another 13 employees from the Fishers office at 11988 Exit Five Parkway to the Indianapolis office on 65th Street.

The moves are “tied to our progress in remodeling the Fishers facility as well as customer needs,” Comcast said in the notice.

Comcast said the 57-person “Retention group” would be relocated to an existing call center in Sterling Heights, Mich., with layoffs starting Nov. 22 and ending Dec. 5. The employees would be considered for other positions in Fishers, Comcast said.

Comcast said it employs 230 employees in Fishers and has room to add up to 90 more. It plans to hire the additional 37 billing and repair workers before the end of the year.
