Industry Week magazine has named Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing LLC in Columbus one of the 10 best in the country.
The Columbus plant designs and makes lift trucks and parts, as well as assembles motor-vehicle parts and accessories. Toyota says its lift trucks are the top seller in North America, and most are made by the Columbus plant.
The plant has produced 400,000 lift trucks over the past 20 years. Toyota’s lift-truck lineup includes forklifts, order pickers and hand-pallet trucks.
Industry Week’s Best Plant honorees will make presentations during an annual conference, which is to be in Indianapolis April 23-25.
