Three Indianapolis-based law firms climbed in a national ranking of the top-200 firms based on number of attorneys.

Barnes & Thornburg LLP led the way, jumping eight spots to 109th while increasing revenue by 7.7 percent, to $260 million, according to 2010 figures compiled and released March 12 by the American Lawyer trade publication.

Baker & Daniels LLP, which became Faegre Baker Daniels following its merger with Minneapolis-based Faegre & Benson LLP on Jan. 1, climbed four spots to 160th. It had revenue of $152.5 million in 2010, an increase of 5.9 percent from the previous year.

Ice Miller LLP followed at 172nd, up five notches from 2009. The firm grew revenue by 6.2 percent in 2010, to $129 million.

Firms with an Indianapolis presence that also made the latest AmLaw 200 list include San Francisco-based Littler Mendleson PC, at 71st; White Plains, N.Y.-based Jackson Lewis LLP, 94th; Greenville, S.C.-based Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart PC, 123rd; and Cincinnati-based Frost Brown Todd LLC, 147th.
