Greg Morris’ [Sept. 24] commentary about President Obama falls short:

1. Morris implies a conclusion based on a meeting he did not attend.

2. Morris’ opinion is based on the writing of one journalist (Matt Walsh) who is quoting another journalist/author, Edward Klein, who also did not personally witness events, but, instead, reported reactions from those who did attend. Morris is at least four steps removed from the original material.

3. Klein’s book, “The Amateur,” was designed to generate election-year sales. (On arrival in office, most presidents are amateurish.)

4. Based only on an interview report that “Obama grew testy,” Klein concludes that Obama displayed “a breathtaking display of narcissistic grandiosity” and “his ideological bent as a far-left corporatist.” How growing “testy” supports such hyperbole is beyond me.

5. Why Morris wishes to attack the messenger, and not the message, also is intriguing, for grandiosity often has been a feature of persons historically viewed as effective.
