Pulliam Trust awards $2.1 million to Indiana not-for-profits

The Nina Mason Pulliam Trust has issued more than $2.1 million in grants to 24 not-for-profits in Indiana, the organization announced Wednesday.

More than $1.5 million went to helping people in need. Another $505,000 went to protecting animals and nature, and community enrichment projects received $87,000.

Individual awards ranged from $25,000 to $270,000.

The largest recipient, the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, will use $270,000 for work force coaching and training over three years.

The Foundation Against Companion Animal Euthanasia received $170,300, allowing it to double to 6,000 the cats it spays and neuters every year.

Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana received $250,000 for its Child Hunger Initiative, and Dress for Success Indianapolis will use $100,000 to provide professional attire and job training to 100 more people.

—    Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis, $25,000;

—    Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic Inc., $100,000;

—    Pathway to Recovery Inc., $50,000;

—    Marry Rigg Neighborhood Center, $270,000;

—    The Salvation Army Social Service Center, $25,000;

—    Shepherd Community Inc., $100,000;

—    Southeast Community Services, $30,000.
