Currently, commuters board an express bus from downtown to Carmel or to Fishers. On Feb. 4, they’ll also have the option of riding IndyGo Route 18/Nora to connect with a Carmel-bound shuttle at East 86th Street and Guilford Avenue.
They’ll also be able take IndyGo Route 19/Castleton to connect to the Fishers shuttle at Community Hospital North.
The shuttle service serves several large employers north of Indianapolis, including Roche Diagnostics, Sallie Mae, Clay Terrace retail center and St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.
“These changes should make riding more desirable because passengers won’t necessarily have to go downtown before heading to Carmel or Fishers,” said Christy Campoll, mobility manager for Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority.
CIRTA said the changes won’t affect inbound commuters riding from Hamilton County to downtown.

The fare for the reverse commute service to Fishers and Carmel is $3 per trip or $1 with a stamped IndyGo pass. The Indy Express reverse commuting service is courtesy of a taxpayer-funded federal Job Access Reverse Commute grant.
