Gov. Mike Pence's office announced Friday that Pence had picked Cameron Clark to lead the agency that oversees the state's parks, wildlife areas and historic sites and enforces hunting laws. Clark has been the DNR's chief legal counsel since 2011.
Clark is replacing Rob Carter, who's led the agency since 2006. Carter is a former Clay County sheriff who last month received clearance from the Indiana Ethics Commission to seek appointment as Ivy Tech Community College's statewide director of public safety.
Ivy Tech spokesman Jeff Fanter said he couldn't immediately confirm Friday whether Carter had been hired for that position.
