The Delaware County commissioners on Monday endorsed a resolution supporting environmental and engineering studies for the proposed Mounds Lake Reservoir. That project is estimated to cost between $300 million and $400 million and would back up seven miles of the White River in Madison and Delaware counties.
Delaware County commissioner James King said he wants to know whether the Daleville area in Delaware County would have boat landings and other features or simply shallow sections of the reservoir, The Star Press of Muncie reported. King said he'll consider that in deciding whether to continue supporting the project.
The proposed lake would cover about 2,100 acres, making it slightly larger than Geist Reservoir near Indianapolis.
