Reading Greg Morris’ [July 15] editorial made me sad for Indiana’s citizens.

I recently attended a national meeting where states implementing the Affordable Care Act discussed the work they’re doing to stand up state-based or partnership exchanges (marketplaces). The meeting included discussions among bright, enthusiastic people who are working long hours to assure that the citizens of their states have a viable marketplace providing affordable health insurance choices with a state imprint.

It’s discouraging that Indiana citizens will be limited to the generic federal exchange with no Indiana involvement because they’re at the mercy of a state administration, a Republican congressional delegation, and now the publisher of a major business journal who are stuck in an echo chamber chanting the same, tired mantra, “Repeal.”

The other states recognize that repeal isn’t going to happen and are moving forward for their constituents. All Indiana is doing is lagging behind … once again.
