Leader of recycling group to step down in November

The head of the Indiana Recycling Coalition is stepping down after five years leading the environmental group.

The coalition announced Monday that Executive Director Carey Hamilton has announced she will step down at the end of November.

Coalition Board President James Parker said Hamilton has helped the not-for-profit organization broaden its funding, win legislative successes and increased staffing and research.

Parker credited Hamilton with pushing a program to safely recycle electronics across the state. He also said Hamilton helped the coalition win state funding that resulted in the doubling of recycling economic development grants.

A search committee led by the coalition's executive committee will post a position description and hiring timeline by mid-August.
