As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndianapolis Business Journal has elevated the idea behind its popular print Forefront section and created a website similarly focused on commentary about politics, policy and government.
Launched on Nov. 1, INforefront is meant to expand the dialogue around essential public issues and give readers access to a wide diversity of opinions in one location, 24 hours a day. It features 30 blogs written by veteran contributors to the Forefront print section, as well as other authors chosen for their experience and influence in the public square.
The site is moderated by Norm Heikens, who also oversees the newspaper’s opinion and editorial pages and the Forefront print section.
"We saw an opportunity to expand [Forefront] and build a statewide online forum for civil discussion of policy and government," said IBJ Managing Editor Cory Schouten. "We are fortunate to have some of the state’s best and brightest as readers and contributors, several of whom have agreed to join the site as bloggers. The new INforefront will give our opinion offering a sense of immediacy and interactivity and a much-broader reach than the monthly pullout print section.”
Like the print section, INforefront bloggers hail from across the political and ideological spectrum. The roster includes such writers as Ted Boehm, Murray Clark, Ann DeLaney, Sheila Kennedy, John Ketzenberger, John Krull, Jim Shella, Bill Styring and Robin Winston.
The site includes local, state, national and international politics sections, as well as Democratic and Republican sections. Topics covered in the site's early offerings include gay marriage, Glenda Ritz, the Tea Party, and Obamacare.
