If the measure is approved by the state, restaurant patrons in Greenwood would pay a 9-percent tax on purchases. That includes the state's 7-percent sales tax and a 1-percent restaurant tax already in effect in Johnson County. The new levy would bring in an estimated $700,000 annually for Greenwood.
