The gift comes as the ICO readies its 30th anniversary season—a season that includes a search for a new music director.
The past season included not only the stepping down of maestro Kirk Trevor (whose potential replacements will be tried out in the 2014-2015 season), but also the establishment of the ICO as a resident company of the Schrott Center for the Arts on the Butler University campus. The ICO also recently named a new concertmaster, Emily Glover, and a new composer in residence, James Aikman. The additional funding will be used for the retention of artistic personnel and to improve production standards.
