The Indianapolis Museum of Art announced this week that it has hired a veteran of the New York City arts community to fill
its chief operating officer position.

J. Nicholas Cameron arrives from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where
he has spent the last 30 years, most recently as vice president for construction.

He will start his new job Jan.
4. Cameron will lead the IMA’s construction and renovation efforts, which include construction of a new conservation
science laboratory, enhancing art-storage areas and ongoing gallery renovations. He also will lead retail sales and event
rental in an attempt to grow museum revenue.

“We are very fortunate to have found such a skilled museum
professional with a keen eye for detail and a proven record of fiscal responsibility,” IMA CEO Maxwell L. Anderson said
in a prepared statement. “Nick’s vast experience will be an asset to our institution and will add depth to the
IMA’s senior management team.”

Chief operating officer duties at the IMA previously were handled
by Indianapolis-based consultancy Edward George & Associates LLC.
