Indiana's congressional delegation ranks nearly last in the nation for the amount of earmarks its members secured for
state projects in the 2010 federal budget.
Indiana received just over $14 per capita and ranked 48th among all states, down from 43rd in 2009. Hawaii led the nation
at nearly $252 per capita.
Democratic Rep. Peter Visclosky of Merrillville secured $29.7 million for 29 projects and ranked 142nd in the House for earmark
dollars received. Fellow Democratic Rep. Joe Donnelly of South bend brought home $3.4 million for 10 projects.
Republican Sen. Richard Lugar secured $109 million for 60 projects and ranked 58th in the Senate.
The 2010 budget contains $16.5 billion in earmarks, down 15.5 percent from the previous year.
