Thank you so much for your article “The Indiana we’ve always wanted.” I am the mother of a 32-year-old gay son, a member of PFLAG (Parents, Friends and Families of Lesbians and Gays) and a member of the Jewish community. I’ve been involved in advocacy for about eight years.
I was at the Senate hearing [this month] and was thrilled when a rabbi was one of those testifying. We know all too well what can happen when one group of people is singled out for discrimination. And where does it stop?
I loved the points you made. I personally wonder if some of the legislators really do not approve of this bill, but are afraid of not getting re-elected if they vote against it.
Again, thank you so much for being what we call in PFLAG a “straight ally.”
