Avg. TV viewer is now over 50

Today's Variety quotes a study stating that the average age of TV network viewers--at least, those viewing shows live and not on DVR--is now 50. That's the highest it's ever been.

CBS has the oldest average age viewer, at 54. The average viewer of "60 Minutes" is, surprise, 60.

Does this surprise you at all? And what does it say about the future of TV as we know it?

    Yeah, but it (average Youtube vs average Television viewer's age/ intelligence) is like comparing (average) high schoolers who watch Dumbass with people around age 50.
