For the 40th year of the Governor's Arts Awards, the Indiana Arts Commission announced six recipients to be honored in a September ceremony at the Palladium.

The honorees: Philanthropist Christel DeHaan, educator/vocalist Cynthia Hartshorn, singer/songwriter John Hiatt, Bloomington mayor Mark Kruzan, late filmmaker Sydney Pollack and, for arts organization, Bloomington-based Traditional Arts Indiana.

"I am honored to recognize this year’s Governor’s Arts Awards recipients for their contributions to the state and the arts,” Pence said in a press release. “These talented and passionate Hoosiers strengthen the culture of Indiana through their individual work, commitment to community development, and enthusiasm and support for the arts in their many forms.”

Congratulations to the honorees.

So what do you think of the choices?
