Here's your weekly starter list of stuff to do.

Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art/CityWay opening

The Fountain Square staple launches an outpost at CityWay with “Fermata,” an exhibition featuring the work of photographer Richard Mosse. His technique involves the use of a discontinued infrared film that registers chlorophyll when developed. The result transforms the green of landscapes into pinks and reds, giving an otherworldly quality to the photographs. In addition to the exhibition, First Friday opening night Oct. 3 includes a concert with Helado Negro. (Give a listen here) IMOCA CityWay Oct. 3. Details here. 

Circle City Classic events

Events surrounding the game include a performance by comedian Luenell (featured in such films as “Think Like a Man” and “Hotel Transylvania”) Oct. 2 and the Gospel Music Explosion Oct. 3, both at the Madame Walker Theatre; the Circle City Classic Parade downtown on Oct. 3; Comedy Jam Oct. 4 at the Murat Theatre; and an Afterparty/Greek Stroll-Off Competition Oct. 4 at Bartini’s. Tommy Tune

You may not have heard of the trio of shows—“Baker Street,” “A Joyful Noise” and “How Now Dow Jones”—that introduced this tall tapper to Broadway audiences, but his choreographic work in such shows as “Nine, “Grand Hotel” and “The Will Rogers Follies” cemented his reputation as one of theater’s great dance minds. For a taste of his skill, watch this number from “Grand Hotel,” one of the most joyous numbers ever staged (it starts to explode around the 1:15 mark). Tune remains an entertainer himself, and in this concert he celebrates his 50 years in the business. Oct. 4  Palladium  Details here.

“Mamma Mia” circles back to town on its national tour. It plays Clowes Hall Oct. 3-5.

Actress Geena Davis speaks at the Oct. 2 Power of Women’s Philanthropy Dinner at the Indiana Roof Ballroom to benefit the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana.

The latest addition to the pop-culture convention lineup, Awesome Con, brings actors Adam West and Burt Ward (TV’s “Batman”), Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite (“Firefly”), Phil Lamarr (“Family Guy”), Kevin Sorbo (“Hercules”) and more to the Indianapolis Convention Center Oct. 3-5.

“Ed Funk: Printmaker, Painter”is on display Oct. 6-21 at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Gallery.

On Oct. 2, the American Pianists Association’s Jazz Concert Series at Eskenazi Health kicks off with a performance by Christian Sands.

“Wings, from Warhol to Warren”opens Oct. 4 at the Long-Sharp Gallery.

Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre presents “Dances of Love and Joy: A Tribute to Florence Hancock” in celebration of the choreographer’s late mother, Oct. 3-4 at the Tarkington Theatre.

Students and guests read all of Homer’s “The Iliad” (approximately 20 hours’ worth) on the front lawn of Herron High School Oct. 2-3.
