Mass Ave merchants’ pop-up shop reopening in Carmel

The holidays are arriving early on Carmel’s Main Street.

Last year’s popular Twelve Days of Mass Ave pop-up shop is reopening this month as Mass on Main, aiming to lengthen its stay—and appeal—beyond the holiday shopping season.

The shop is a collaborative effort, offering goodies from at least four established retailers in Indianapolis’ eclectic Mass Ave cultural district: Silver in the City, Crimson Tate, Nurture Baby and Handmade Promenade.

Organizers are renting the space at 110 W. Main Street (in Keystone Group’s Sophia Square building) through December, with an option to stay longer.

After its Aug. 15 debut, Mass on Main will be open Wednesdays-Sundays. A grand-opening celebration is in the works for September.

Sophia Square, which sits atop a free, public parking garage, occupies a full block in Carmel’s Arts & Design District, just east of the heavily-traveled Monon Greenway. Other commercial tenants include Scotty’s Brewhouse, The Pint Room, Do-Tique and Huddles Frozen Yogurt.
