Piada Italian Street Food, a fast-casual Italian eatery featuring hand-rolled piadas, pasta bowls and chopped salads, is set to open Aug. 22 at River Crossing, just east of The Fashion Mall on the northeast side.
The free-standing restaurant is located in front of PK Partners’ The Shops at River Crossing in the southwest corner of Barnes & Noble’s parking lot. IBJ first reported in 2013 that the Piada would locate at the site.
The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 73 inside and 24 outside. Average price for a meal is about $9.
Piada will give away free entrees for a year to the first 100 people in the door on Aug.22 and will distribute wrist bands for those camping out starting at 7 p.m. Aug. 21, the company said.
Chris Doody, also a founder of the Bravo! Cucina Italiana chain, started Piada in 2010. The Columbus, Ohio-based chain has a location at 1380 S. Rangeline Road in Carmel, in addition to 17 in Ohio and two in Michigan.
