BMW said today it will expand its plant in Spartanburg, S.C., to make the X3 and X5 sport-utility vehicles. Another model destined for the plant is the X6 coupe.

The cost of imports has risen as the value of the dollar withers against the Euro and other currencies, so the move should help make BMW more price-competitive.

Have higher prices of imported goods â?? cars or anything else â?? caused to think twice before buying?
  • way to hit your target market. I mean, how many readers of your blog actually are caring about BMW vehicles this expensive?
  • Thanks for the thought, left field. Speaking from anecdotal experience, interest in expensive cars isn't a big stretch for some of these readers.
  • bmw z4's used to be and maybe still are produced at that sc plant too.

out in left, those beemers are entry level euro cars....
  • I find this topic to be of interest.
