Indianapolis-based Interactive Intelligence Inc. has acquired a small German firm in an all-cash transaction, announced Tuesday morning.

Interactive did not disclose the price for Agori Communications, which re-sells Interactive's software to key customers such as Bosch Communication Center, Swiss Post Solutions, Avocis (formerly known as The Bee Company), Acoreus Collection Services and Combitel.

Agori had 2010 revenue of about $4.5 million before license and support fees it paid to Interactive, according to a press release.

"We’ve got a focus on expanding in Germany. They’ve got a good set of customers," Interactive Chief Financial Officer Stephen Head said.

Interactive already has four employees in Germany who will join Agori's staff of 16 in suburban Frankfurt.

"Our acquisition of Agori will add to our employee base an experienced group of professionals who have a proven track record providing superior customer service to large companies," Interactive CEO Don Brown said. "Our recently opened cloud-based communications data center in Frankfurt will add even greater momentum to our growing business in Germany."

Interactive employs about 500 people at its Indianapolis headquarters. Shares of the company slipped 23 cents Tuesday morning, to $34.18 each.
