godaddyIndy Racing League driver Danica Patrick last week finished filming a pair of Go Daddy TV commercials in Los Angeles that will air during Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1. The Arizona-based domain name registrar is one of Patrick’s primary sponsors.

“They are both fun and edgy," Patrick said. “They are just what you would expect from You’re going to have to watch the Super Bowl to see them. I can’t ruin the surprise.”

The commercials still have to be approved by NBC-TV censors, who pulled Go Daddy commercials in 2005 after one airing.

“We have two options and they’re both absolutely … Go Daddy-esque,” Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons said. “They are fun, edgy and slightly inappropriate. Surely network censors will have a sense of humor, people could use a good laugh these days."
  • Inappropriate for whom is the question. Last year's was about Danica's beaver. In the pulled ad, she actually pulled out a beaver as a pet. Most guys would get a good laugh out of this. If this were done on Saturday Night Live or any number of irreverant shows, no one bats an eye. But, hey, this is the Super Bowl, and someone might see.....

Ok, having said all of that what comes next is the parade of dimwits degrading the IRL and Danica Patrick. None of these supposedly informed souls will ever match a pittance of what Danica has accomplished in her brief career nor will they ever be entertained by any of the participating teams that run in the IRL.

So, we'll just let success speak for itself. Go Danica!!!!
  • Well she couldn;t be talking about her melons

cause she sure ain't got none.

Brief career? She's wonned ONE race in 7 years. You'd think her last name was Foyt or Carpenter or George! I mean, who would give those losers rides except the great inheritor!
  • Why would any legitimate business entity embrace inappropriate material? Yeah they can get away with it on Saturday Night Live. But they are not a business entity that caters to families. However, this is right up Danicles alley. She doesn't have any driving skills or memorable victories to market so sex is about all she has to offer What the hell, I guess beaver goes with the ol' pigskin right?
  • If berwick would get a sex change operation, he could be an IRL star too.
  • Then the old goats at CampnBrew could sit around talking about your beaver, as well
  • inappropriate? Look at ads featuring other sports stars, and then call Danicas inappropriate. Again the sad c>rters/owrs/ccws are hating because they have nothing. Danica brings a lot of good pub and fans to the IRL. Nothing wrong with that. One Superbowl commercial gives the IRL more exposure than c>rt/owrs/ccws had in its life span.
  • Read carefully. It was Go Daddy's founder who called the ad inappropriate not the IRL haters. For better or worse, Danica does bring the series a lot of publicity.
  • One Superbowl ad gives the irl* more exposure than cart/owrs/ccws had in it life span....

That's why you FTG lackeys are called gomers. CART never had to have gimmicks. Especially a flat chested wanker who only won a race when the soon to be Felon Dancing Queen pulled over. But hey it's still good exposure, at least no one was killed or paralyzed last year in the Tony's Bank Account Crapwagon League.
  • Don't be hating on CART. Have you been to one of TOneys street parades lately? Where's Racin Gardner and the Lazier brothers? Why did Mr. Indycar, Sam Hornish, flee to the safety of the 34 roundy rounds NASCAR?
  • Danica finished sixth in a competetive series. That is not worthy of all your scorn. Like I said before, Stan, Southside Dave, Brett, and Duh Hooey - nipples on a boar hog.
  • Competitive? In that everyone has the same tires, engines and chassis? Danicle couldn't even win in Atlantics, she had to go to the semi pro EARL and could still only get a win when the Dancing Queen ran out of gas (allegedly). The EARL was made for wankers like Danicle, Special Ed, Sam the Sham and Jabba the Foyt's bastard Grandson. None of them can cut it in any other form of racing. And Danica has been given special equipment like power steering and still sucks.
  • i used to be a hottie too. and i did sum really inappropriate stuff, for realsies! Not sum make beleive teevee ad inappropriate either! Boy, i sure do miss that stable boi!
  • Shut up and go to bed mom.
  • I STILL can't believe I took a bullet for HER!
  • Well, inappropriate ads for an inappropriate series are about the only thing that has made any sense to me for the last 14 years! Whoops, did I say that out loud?
  • Nothing like a blog that caters to hate and evil. Wer're out of control here! Gee, let's try focusing on the positives, the Indy 500 remains one of the top sporting events in the world, the IRL provides opportunities for race team owners, drivers, crew members and enjoyment for the fans. Nothing you haters say will change that. Perhaps you can just take your hate and keep it to yourself.

Thank goodness for Curt Cavin and Robin Miller!
  • Yes, lets focus on the first and only positive the IRL has produced to date.

From the mouth of Tony hissownself: If the IRL is not profitable, there will be no 2013.

Here's to 2013! It can't come soon enough!
  • the Indy 500 remains one of the top sporting events in the world

Hell, the Indy 500 is the 3rd most popular race Memorial Day Weekend - behind the taxi cab 600 mile race and that little F1 race that weekend.
  • Brett,

c>rt/owrs/ccws never had gimmicks? Ever hear of push to pass and special tires? The whole series was nothing more than a gimmick.
  • Dear Indyman,

You mean the very same push to Pass and Option Tire that are now a part of the IRL? You know, the series that tries to copy everything CART did? Only they do so poorly that to compare it to a cheap Chinese knock-off would be an insult to 1 billion Chinese?

Gee, I wonder why the IRL has dozens of fans, while CART had millions. A good portion of which HATE the IRL and toxic toeknee 14 years in?

Face loser, if the IRL could last a 100 years, it could never hope to eclipse half of what CART did during it's 20 year run. It's a vision of the cocaine addled mind of Anton George. It has FAIL tattooed on its forehead, just like toeknee.
  • Stop blaming tony you c^rt losers. By the time he started the IRL c^rt had already done damage beyond repair. Those retards that ran c^rt thought American race fans would rather see Thomas Johanssen or Alex Zanardi than Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart.
  • c>rt/owrs/ccws never had gimmicks? Ever hear of “push to pass” and “special tires”? The whole series was nothing more than a gimmick.

CART never had push to pass. That was CCWS and Kevin Kalkhoven, an irl* team owner. How many races did OWRS run? That shows how stupid you are. TFF. F-1, NASCAR, ALMS and Grand AM all have tire options, it just shows what a semi-pro series Formula Necksnap is. Well, that and the fact that team owners like Jabba the Foyt and FTG are too ignorant to know that there are different tires avaialable.

  1. PJ - Mall operators like Simon, and most developers/ land owners, establish individual legal entities for each property to avoid having a problem location sink the ship, or simply structure the note to exclude anything but the property acting as collateral. Usually both. The big banks that lend are big boys that know the risks and aren't mad at Simon for forking over the deed and walking away.

  2. Do any of the East side residence think that Macy, JC Penny's and the other national tenants would have letft the mall if they were making money?? I have read several post about how Simon neglected the property but it sounds like the Eastsiders stopped shopping at the mall even when it was full with all of the national retailers that you want to come back to the mall. I used to work at the Dick's at Washington Square and I know for a fact it's the worst performing Dick's in the Indianapolis market. You better start shopping there before it closes also.

  3. How can any company that has the cash and other assets be allowed to simply foreclose and not pay the debt? Simon, pay the debt and sell the property yourself. Don't just stiff the bank with the loan and require them to find a buyer.

  4. If you only knew....

  5. The proposal is structured in such a way that a private company (who has competitors in the marketplace) has struck a deal to get "financing" through utility ratepayers via IPL. Competitors to BlueIndy are at disadvantage now. The story isn't "how green can we be" but how creative "financing" through captive ratepayers benefits a company whose proposal should sink or float in the competitive marketplace without customer funding. If it was a great idea there would be financing available. IBJ needs to be doing a story on the utility ratemaking piece of this (which is pretty complicated) but instead it suggests that folks are whining about paying for being green.
