  1. I don't think this is on the Mayor. He depends on others to do their job. He IS trying to get on top of this. I'm not a GOPer, but this is not the Mayor. He needs to fix it, and I think he will. He must, so Joe Hogsett won't gain political ground. And yes, I do have an axe to grind. And YES I want my mother to get that land. She had to live next to that eyesore that a Bank let sit for 23+ years. I grew up next to that ugly house. Not fun. My parents' house is nice — and it sits next to a rundown shitty house. How would you feel if you kept up your house but next door was a shitty ramshackle? You would be pissed. My parents have been VERY patient. So yeah elle, I'm pissed. If your Mother were mistreated would you be pissed? My facts are true, real and yes biased — because they are facts relating to OUR situation. My family got screwed, so did other families who wanted rebuild these areas MOST dont even want to drive through. Should these criminals be allowed to keep that land they stole, when my parents get old and can't deal with the property, guess who has to deal with those assholes — ME! Not good, not good at all. There is nothing wrong with racially motivated hires — just get people who can do the damn JOB! I'm not working with the FBI. They just clicked on my IBJ link like you (and 1000 others — thank you Google Analytics - amazing how you can track people with this technology) did, lol. (wink). See, I didn't even post my link, lol.

  2. Marshall, I know where the current McDonald's are located. They all take just a few minutes to drive to. Yes, there is no longer one in walking distance (and the old Hyatt location was not the only one, there used to be at least two more, but maybe, I'm showing my age). The point is that it is McDonald's NOT the developer that makes the decision about where and if to locate a restaurant somewhere. Whether you or I are fans of McDonald's is irrelevant. McDonald's has the money to locate anywhere it wishes. The fact that it doesn't have a restaurant in the core of the downtown means McDonald's thinks there is no market justification for it, and right or wrong, that is the end of the story.

  3. The only "nearby" McDonalds that I can think of is at 16th and Meridian. Aside from the fact that service at that location is horrible, it's hardly convenient to the "business customers" you refer to. The only McDonalds I remember being near the core of downtown anytime recently was the location in the lobby of the Hyatt and it was pretty much hidden. If you didn't already know it was there, you would NEVER know it was there. I'm no fan of fast food but I'm SURE there is a place (and a "want") for additional fast food options in the city core - especially McDonalds!

  4. I could suggest several 24 hour dining options (including a couple of "diners") in the downtown area...

  5. What the heck!!! What happened to keeping business in Indiana?
