Gov. Mitch Daniels had sharp words for legislators after they finished overriding his veto of tax breaks for the film industry.

â??Itâ??s truly an irresponsible decision, and I canâ??t imagine what they were thinking,â?? he fired off in a statement yesterday.

Are the estimated $30 million in tax breaks truly an unnecessary handout? Or was Daniels over the top?
  • It seems counter intuitive to give tax breaks to existing Indiana businesses without requiring a correspondingly large capital investment or employment increases considering that politicians are trying to solve the property tax mess.
  • i think it's great! this seems to be one industry where tax breaks will be very clearly a positive.
