Carmel police arrested three Indianapolis teenagers accused of stealing a vehicle early Thursday morning. Two of the teens
were taken into custody after they were found in a stolen truck near Main Street and Keystone Avenue shortly after 4 a.m.
The other suspect was found hiding behind a dumpster at the McDonald’s at Keystone and Carmel Drive. James Lomonn Moore,
19, and William Devante Boone, 18, were arrested on theft charges. A 17-year-old faces theft charges and an additional charge
for possession of a handgun without a license.
A family of nine escaped a fire early Thursday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Chris and Melanie Woolard and
seven children ages 6 months to 11 years were awakened by a loud noise at about 1 a.m. and found their house in the 7700 block
of Chatham Court North Drive on fire. Investigators say the fire was likely started by a heat pump and caused about $20,000
in damage.
The Quality Inn and Suites in the 5000 block of Lafayette Road was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man at about 4:45 a.m.
Thursday, Indianapolis police say. A front desk worker said the man forced her to give him $200 from a register and her mobile
phone. Investigators say camera footage shows the suspect driving away northbound on Lafayette Road in a compact car.
A water-main break is causing big problems at Ball State University in Muncie. Four major buildings, including the administration
building, are expected to be without water for the rest of the day while repairs are being made. Offices will remain open
and classes will continue as scheduled, but the bathrooms in the buildings will be closed.
An Indianapolis mother was arrested on a charge of neglect of a dependent Tuesday night after neighbors saw her 3-year-old
son wandering alone along a street on the southwest side. Police were called to the 4600 block of West Troy Avenue after two
women found the boy near their apartment building. The boy was “wet and trembling” and wore no shoes or coat,
the report said. Roial Harris said she left her son asleep while she went to the Laundromat. The child was placed in the custody
of Harris’ parents.
A man said he believes he passed out before crashing his pickup truck through the side of a home near 146th Street and Allisonville
Road in Fishers. Jerry Mooneyhan, 57, was traveling eastbound on 146th Street at about 4 a.m. Wednesday when he became dizzy
and failed to complete the turn before ramming into a bedroom in the house. The only person in the home at the time was sleeping
in another bedroom. The resident and Mooneyhan were uninjured.
Two people died and another was in critical condition after a car crashed into a building on the far-east side early Sunday morning. Tiffany McGinnis, 27, of Indianapolis was arrested on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated. Police say she drove a Chevrolet Impala into the Univar USA Inc. building at 7425 E. 30th St., just before 3:30 a.m.
Matthew Graves, a coach for the Butler University men's basketball team for more than a decade, is leaving the program to become head coach at the University of South Alabama, sources say. Graves, a former Butler player, was an assistant coach for nine years before being named associate head coach in 2010. South Alabama went 17-13 this season and finished second in the Sun Belt Conference. Its coach, Ronnie Arrow, retired earlier this season.
A snowstorm that left 7.2 inches of snow in Indianapolis on Sunday set a weather record for the date. The National Weather
Service said the snowfall was the most that has fallen in the city on March 24 since 1912, when it got 5.8 inches. While it
isn't all that rare for Indiana to get snow in March, it is unusual to get so much.
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is reminding motorists that all of its license branches will be closed March 29 in observance
of Good Friday. Most license branches will resume normal business hours the following day.
Before the Indiana Pacers tip off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, the team’s star center will pass out
free tickets to upcoming games to every blood donor. The Roy Hibbert Blood & Bone Marrow Drive runs until 3 p.m. at Banker’s
Life Fieldhouse. Hibbert hopes to attract at least 300 donors.
A man robbed a convenience store south of Greenwood early Friday morning, then forced a customer to drive to Indianapolis
at gunpoint. New Whiteland police said the gunman stole less than $1,000 from the Shell/Circle K gas station at U.S. 31 and
Tracy Road during the 1 a.m. holdup. He released his hostage unharmed near the Interstate 70 and Harding Street interchange.
Police have clear video footage of the suspect.
Indianapolis police say a dead man found Wednesday afternoon in a vacant apartment on the city’s far-east side had
been shot to death. The victim, discovered in the 4000 block of Stratford Court, near Post Road and 42nd Street, was in his
20s or 30s.
A person was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 465 on the south side of Indianapolis, near Mann
Road. As of 10:30 a.m., a couple of hours after the crash, two westbound lanes were still closed.
Four teams from Indiana received bids to the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Indiana University earned the top seed
in the East Region and will play Friday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, against the winner of a play-in game between LIU Brooklyn
and James Madison University. No. 6 seed Butler University will play Bucknell University on Thursday in Lexington, Ky., at
12:40 p.m. The University of Notre Dame, seeded seventh, faces Iowa State University in Dayton on Friday. And No. 14 Valparaiso
University will play Michigan State University in Auburn Hills, Mich., on Thursday.

For those who let this information strike a nerve, remember that this is still the America that allows the freedom to achieve dreams and goals. Should you really chastise those who are given a perk on a deal that is supported by the consumer (that is until they don't like the deal anymore due to envy) or should the dream of rewards for working be looked at a little closer? I say lets stick to the deal, go to work,earn our keep, shoot for dreams, change our jobs to have that dream or shut up about others achievements ..............while we are still afforded this liberty of America !
