The 13th annual Vintage Indiana Wine & Food Festival is coming up June 2, and you can go, along with three of your friends,
if your name is randomly picked in this week’s contest.
Just enter here and name your favorite Indiana wine and/or food.
My top two favorite Indiana wineries are French Lick - Cayuga White and Winzerwald - Schweitzer Spice. This will be my 4th
year in a row going to this most spectacular event!
I love all the wineries in Indiana and we have so much fun on the various wine trails! But our favorite wine is a Shiraz we
made right here in Indiana!
Best food......
that incredible cheeseburger for $6 at the Happy Hour in the bar at Flemings on 86th Street (across from the Fashion
Mall in Indy).
Wash down with a nice glass of wine (also on the bar specials).
Best bargain in town for the upscale diner.
Tenderloin--Friendly Tavern
Root Beer--mug n bun
Burger--boogie burger shroom burger w/garlic mix
Pizza--Turoni's in Evansville
Ice cream--handels (not Indiana born but too bad)
Try EASLEY Winery in downtown Indy! Love their reds...Reggae Red label is great as well!
Hoosier food favorite - a staple here = chicken & dumplings!!!
There is a small winery in the eastern part of Indiana named Wilson Wines. Their 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a most powerful
big red wine. Their sweet wines are very good as well. It's definitely worth the drive.
FOOD: La Parada 3 Veggie Tacos with Pico de Gallo, Goose the Market Veggie Batali, FARM Fries with their housemade ketchup,
Upland Brewery Nachos with a side of Hellfire Habanero sauce, Scholar's Inn Bakehouse Parmesan Black Peppercorn Baguette with
a shmear of Trader's Point Creamery Fromage
I am so torn! But because Chateau Thomas has a wine tasting presence here in Fishers, I have to pick them. I also love Oliver
and Coopers Hawk wineries!!
So many to choose from it is hard to say that 1 is our favorite but to pick 1 we will say we can not wait to pick up a few
bottles of White Horse White that they use to make the slushies with also.
