For me, the weekend included a trek through the exhibition area of Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration and then an evening under the big top with Q Artistry's "Zirkus Grimm." (More on that production in an upcoming blog.)

And you?

Did you hear the music of the Rolling Stones via the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra? Hear tales of "Love, Loss and What I Wore" at the Phoenix? Catch a concert or the last days of the Ai Weiwei show?

Share your experiences here.

  • First Expo
Expo was very good, but a little spartan. Not many non-corporate exhibitors. My wife said years ago every ounce of space was filled. Not sure if it's an economy issue or a sales/marketing issue. But enjoyed the day.
  • Film Fest & Q Artistry
I went to a large high school so never was really moved by "Hoosiers" but I enjoyed "Medora" at the Indianapolis International Film Fest. More than the futility in basketball, I was drawn in by the struggles these kids face off the court in a town with few options -- socially or economically. Q Artistry's "ZirkusGrimm" was an innovative and a very entertaining approach an execution of Grimm's fairy tales. Great job by all involved.
