    Phish and thunderstorms!
  • Concert
    Symphony on the Prairie!!
  • Summer Tour
Summers following the Grateful Dead around the Midwest were great but nothing beat a Dead Show at Deer Creek.
  • Concert
    Dave Matthews!!!
  • Summer Concert
Dave Matthews playing "All Along the Watchtower" as the encore and the rain beginning to pour at the beginning of the song. Sounds weird but it made the moment so much better!
  • Summer Concert
Polka Boy @ Cool Creek Park with family, friends, and some liquid refreshment.
  • Summer Concert
Edwin McCain puts on the best show period. I've seen 100's of concerts over the years and no body plays with the devotion this guys does!
  • Concert
    Moody Blues
  • BHTM
I went to see Counting Crows on the UCSD campus in 2003. Just before the start of the concert, Adam Duritz came on the stage and announced that he was ill, but that the show would go on, and that they were going to have to slow down and mellow out each song so that his chops could make it through to the end. It ended up being one of the most beautiful musical nights I can ever remember. I'm a sucker for the that slow stuff - It was great.
  • concert
    Prince...great show
  • Summer Concert
The Fray and Jack's Mannequin last summer! Great show
  • Summer Concert
Best concert was Rod Stewart with all my girlfriends! We had a great time!
  • Summer Stages
I think that's what it was called. It was a one-time awesome festival at Military Park and on IUPUI's campus. It was the most diverse lineup ever...Sugar Ray, Blondie, G. Love, Widespread Panic, Better Than Ezra...wonder why that never happened again.
  • BEST SUMMER CONCERT EVER!
Josh Groban a few years ago when he came to Verizon! It was the most beautiful stage, music, and live vocal performace ever!!!
  • Parrotheads
Although I never can really recall the details... I always have a blast at Jimmy Buffett! This year's show was a great kickoff to the summer concert season for me!
  • Summer Concert
    The Beach Boys, Clearlake Iowa.
If that's not Summer, I don't know what is.
  • Lolla
I remember many a Lollapalooza shows. Saw bands like Pearl Jam before they made it big.
  • Lilith Fair
When my daughters were old enough to go to concerts and appreciate the music, the oldest became a huge Sarah McLachlan fan...I took both girls to Lilith Fair both years 1997,1998 I believe...people always make fun of it, but the shows were all great (we saw both Indy shows, plus one in Chicago), some of the entertainment on the second stage was amazing, (Susan Tedeschi and Kelly Willis to name just a couple)...My daughters and I were treated to some of the best musicians and entertainers in the business...we saw the Dixie Chicks in the early days when they were just musical and not controversial, Sinead O'Conner (one of the most incredible singing voices I have ever heard), the Indigo Girls, Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter,Diana Krall, Natalie Merchant, Bonnie Raitt...Natalie Maines and Sarah McLachlan coming back to the second stage to sing John Prine's "Angel From Montgomery" with Susan Tedeschi. My kids got exposed to great jazz, blues, folk, country, and some of the better pop music of the day, and I really feel those concerts have a lot to do with why they love music, and are not as discriminatory about it as a lot of young people. That was a great father moment for me, and a great memory of a time we all shared...one of the girls is getting married Saturday so it is a time of reflection for me anyway. Lilith Fair was not the greatest concert I have ever been to, but it is my favorite summer concert for obvious reasons, and it was great...I would not have even gone were it not for my daughters...It was great family time spent, and artistcally enriching...how many events can you say that about?
  • SUMMER FUN!
So far Guster summer of 2007 at White River State Park was my favorite- although I can't wait for Corey Smith tomorrow and MGMT monday!
  • Dog Talk
Dog Talk with Cliff White at the Rathskeller Biergarten. Man, those were the times!
  • Cypress Hill
I was walking around with a friend of mine before their set, and Senn-Dog's body guard almost ran us over. He stopped and talked to us for a second, which, for a 19 year old, was pretty exciting!
  • Summer Concert
A few years ago, my husband and I drove to Madison, WI to go to the Southern Comfort Music Experience. Totally free show with tons of great acts, but Cowboy Mouth stole the show! We've seen them 23 times since then and each show has been better than the last.
  • REO
Fav summer concert was REO Speedwagon at Deer Creek (now Verizon). POURED DOWN RAIN when they were singing. Awesome!
  • Summer Experiences
John Prine, Starlight Theater on Butler campus, walking distance of home. Who could ask for more. Those were the days.
  • Guess Who's on Stage???
I was born in 1978, but thanks to my parents, I have always enjoyed good classic rock. One summer when I was 15, I was very excited to go see a show in Milwaukee. The only problem is, I didn't realize that there was a diffrence between the "Who" and the "Guess Who"!!! You can imagine my disappointment when Pete Townshend did NOT arrive on stage that evening. It was still a fun show, and I learned a valuable lesson that night!
  • Summer
    Hendrix at Woodstock
  • Best Summer Concert
Country Concert in Ft Loramie, OH. Didn't really care about the acts, something about being in college and camping for 4 days! Memories of 10 cases of Natty Light...
  • Bette!
My favorite summer concert experience was when I sold brownies and lemonade in the street corner at 13 to get tickets to see Bette Midler! Love the Divine Miss M!
  • Dixie
My best ever was and always will be Jimmy Buffett Concerts at Verizon Wireless.....
  • Bob Seger
The Toledo Speedway Jam in 83 with Bob Seger, Foghat and Quarterflash. It was 100 degrees and people were passing out everywhere from the heat and it was muddy from the earlier rains. We were smart enough to drink lots of water and we had a blast.
  • Pearl Jam last month
Just saw Pearl Jam again in May @ Verizon. Love to see those guys continue to expand their playlists with yet another album. Camping out across the street at the Sleepy Bear Campground makes for an easy "drive home".
  • Elton John/Billy Joel
I went to see Elton John and Billy Joel perform at Giants Stadium (Meadowlands, NJ). It was a beautiful starry night with the best entertainers on the planet-- who put on an unforgettable show!
  • Lollapalooza
    Back in the day.
  • Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac and bypassing most of the traffic to get there.
  • Fav Concert
    Dave Matthews, by far!!
  • Fav Concert
    Nickelback at Verizon
  • Rib Fest!
Nothing means the celebration of summer more than Rib Fest! Sunshine, heat, sauce, smoke, ribs, and MUSIC!
  • Kickin' it old school
It seems like an odd choice when I think about it, but I would have to say Bryan Adams at The Lawn and White River State Park a few summers ago. Great seats, great setting, great music...he even played an acoustic snippet from my favorite one of his songs ("All for Love"), which I didn't expect since it was recorded as a trio.

If I happen to win, I'd love to have tickets for Edwin McCain--it's been years since I've seen him live! :-)
  • Favorite Concert
Sade at Deer Creek (still refuse to call it Verizon as they haven't given me any money) several years ago. Balmy evening with great music.
  • Poison Groupie Tour
I catch Poison every year their on tour. A few summers ago, a buddy and I followed them for a long weekend out on the West Coast. Friday in Vegas, Saturday in LA and Sunday in Phoenix. Definitely a trip to remember for a lifetime.
  • Looking Forward
    Michael Buble!!!!
  • Straight =
Great Shows at the Lawn, but Idigo Girls stands out, Walking out with my Date and many people said "Look, A STRIAGHT COUPLE" But I saw Edwin McCain, Lots of energy, and That would really top the summer off. Pick Me !!! Pick Me!!
  • Summer Conerts
Never been to Birdy's and never seen Edwin McCain...I would love to go. Summer experience so far...went to Buffett and Nickleback. Results...I spent to much time in the VIP tent. Bottom line...I will never do lawn and VIP again...became a social event instead of enjoying the musicians. Over served! Pavilion only for me in the future!!!! Locally...I rarely miss The Toasters!!! Great people...a positive asset for Indy.
  • Deer Creek Days
Some chick I'd met for the first time sitting next to me at a George Strait concert at Verizon back when it was called Deer Creek offering up some tequilla to me in her binoccular shaped flask. :-)
  • Concert
Why Buffet here at Verizon, of course. (I refuse to call that venue by any other name.)
    Long Live the Conch Republic!

Bonnie Raitt at White River State Park
