So did you make it to the Palladium for either the gala or the first concert in the classical series? (I caught both. The first is reviewed here.)

But that wasn't the only game in town (or in the region). There were concerts with the ISO and Meridian Song Project. Plays at the Phoenix and the IRT. And lots more.

What did you hear, see, or otherwise do this weekend?

  • Stolen and Costello
I'm admittedly geekish about Elvis Costello's Juliet Letters. I own two versions on CD, and still have the casette I bought when it was first released back in the early 90s. So, I was simply tickled to hear it performed live. Still, the Meridian Song Project went beyond simply satisfying my geekish interest. Yesterday's concert was one of the most beautiful performances I've enjoyed anywhere in a very long time. The strings were exceptional, and, of course, Steven was exquisite. Voice, performance, banter ... it all hit the mark. And to enjoy it in such a wonderful setting ... well, let's just say I pity those of you who missed it.
