For me, the very busy weekended included a Symphony on the Serengeti...er, Prairie performance by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Time for Three, and Arlo Guthrie (a terrific but off-balance show, with Guthrie's second-half appearance being cut short because the Arlo-less first act ran long).
I also made it to the Phoenix Theatre's production of "With a Bang," the ComedySportz World Championships, and a pop-up theater production of local playwright Bennett Ayre's "The Eel Catchers" at Theatre on the Square. I also caught Actors Theatre of Indiana's "The Andrews Brothers" earlier in the week. More on all--or, at least, most--of these in upcoming blogs and in my print column.
And you? Did you catch any of the above or brave the heat for other shows, movies, concerts or exhibtiions?
What did you see this weekend?
Your thoughts?

For me, I saw "Captain America," which is really not my kind of movie at all, but this one was made with a kind of knowing corniness that made it very entertaining.
Saw the Andrews Brothers last weekend - fabulous show!
We are so fortuntate in the venues and talent available right here. There's always something going on or coming up.
I went back on Friday night and had a wonderful time all over again. I wish I could have gone to every match over the four days!
I laughed 'til I hurt, but the hurt was healing, if that makes sense. Who was it that said laughter makes the best medicine?
The energy at the Athenaeum as the ComedySportz teams from all around the country - including our own Indy team - competed to make the audience laugh without using curse words or off-color jokes was exhilerating. I was, and am, filled with admiration for the skill, creativity, generosity, and joy that every one of those improv artists brought to this competition.
I enjoy going to Indy ComedySportz events year-round, but this tournament was something special.
I wonder where it will be next year? I wouldn't mind traveling to be in the audience again, if it is not too far away.
