Actually, i'm not kidding. Lucas Oil stadium capacity is only 63,000 (although it says expendable to 70,000). By default
configuration that will only put it 3000 more then the current RCA dome.
What a waste! I still don't understand why the Colts can't play in an outdoor stadium like real men (Bears, Packers, Steelers).
It's just as easy to choke away the season in the cold, and it would've saved the taxpayers some money.
Kevin - I agree that football should be played outdoors, but keep this in mind: Had the city built a stadium with no roof,
we probably would have lost the NCAA Final 4 and a number of conventions to other cities. By building a stadium with a retractable
roof we get the best of both worlds.
Steve, actually the seating numbers you point to are wrong. Currently, the RCA DOME seats closer to 56,000. It USED to seat
more prior to the reconfiguration several years ago for club seating.
While the LOS will be expandable to meet the sating requirements for hosting the Super Bowl, the RCA Dome would never
have been able to.
