A 64-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after being beaten on the Monon Trail over the weekend. James Knapp was found bleeding from his head, arm and leg on the trail near 21st Street and Winthrop Avenue on the city's near-north side just after noon Sunday. A security officer working for a nearby church said he saw three teenage boys riding bikes away from the scene in a hurry. The victim was dazed by the attack and wasn’t sure if anything had been stolen from him.
