KV Racing Technology announced today that Paul Tracy will pilot a car for the team at the Camping World Grand Prix at the
Glen, July 5, at Watkins Glen International Raceway.
Tracy will be sponsored by GEICO Insurance and drive the No. 15 GEICO - KV Racing Technology entry as a teammate to Mario Moraes.
“Running Paul at The Glen with Mario gives us the opportunity to maximize our efforts on a very challenging road course and provides Paul with a tune-up race before he competes in front of his hometown fans in Toronto,” KVRT co-owner Jimmy Vasser said. "I want to thank GEICO for stepping forward and making this possible, and I think I can speak for everyone at KVRT when I say that we are all very excited."
Tracy, who drove for KVRT at this year's Indianapolis 500, qualifying 13th and finishing ninth, will be contesting his first race on the 3.4-mile Watkins Glen permanent road course.
“I want to thank GEICO Insurance, Kevin Kalkhoven and Jimmy Vasser for the opportunity to compete in another race this year,” Tracy said. “I really enjoyed working with (general manager) Mark Johnson and the entire team last month at Indy and was looking forward to racing in the two events in Canada. Now, I have the opportunity to compete on one of the most famous circuits in the world for the first time. It feels a little strange that at this stage of my career that there are still some exciting challenges left, and racing at Watkins Glen, with all its history, is definitely a challenge, but one I am looking forward to meeting.”

you know why I follow this still? I made it a point years ago to follow this train wreck until TG gets his due for the damage he has done to the entire OW racing community. I will not relent until he is gone from racing, exercising my RIGHT to point out the fallacy and utter failure his Leege is. Knowledge and Education will set you free.
The IRL: PT can;t sell any seats either.
Sorry you didn't catch my sarcasm. As you'll recall, I'm not in favor of TG or what he's done either. I do, however, support some of the people trying to stick it out, for whatever that's worth. I don't, at this point, believe they're all to be disparaged.
Exactly! That's why nobody went to Edmonton last year! That was a failure, too! (Race weekend attendance was estimated 160,000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Rexall_Edmonton_Indy)
Second: PT has lived outside of Canada for many years now. He is an American, just like Gaylio Twinkle Toes.
Exactly again! Canadians only cheer for current Canadian residents! Paul Tracy is totally irrelevant to them. That's also why they hated Jacques Villeneuve so much!
Knowledge and Education will set you free.
Good job, there Da Hooey! Your post is a great example of knowledge and education!
Da Hooey's just mad cause he can't dance and he doesn't get the quality of women as does Helio. Did you see his lady friend at the banquet? WOW, if Hooey can do that well, then he da man!
That plus the fact Hooey fell off the fence once and broke his bumper (insert SMILEY FACE here!)
I am sitting around $20 million is racing inventory as I type this. My girlfriend is out shopping with my wife for outfits to wear on our little Gulf getaway after Iowa. What are you doing? Typing on Daddy's lap top, waiting for the Rod N Reel to open so you can go in and get lucky.
The Adam Lambert t-shirt is a nice touch, BerwickGirl. But the steel buns you seek will be turned off by it. You'd better go back to your sailor look.
I'm surprised the guy that cleans the floors and pretends he's an owner is capable of typing at all. But, oh well, so you went to the Evelyn WoodHead Sped Reddin and Clerk Typin School and gradiated with BiGirlFan. Impressive. A girl friend and a wife, huh, real class. Probably your cousins from Tucky. Sucks to be you man in your pretend world.
Aye, Aye Matey!
That is SO, so westside Indianapolis of you. Weak material. IS that what you got or are you bluffing? And no, it is two girlfriends and a wife. My other girlfriend is in Fiji this month, on holiday.
Sucks to be, yes. If you know what I mean.
Dana: Nothing you typed makes ANY sesne at all. First: The Edmonton Race will be done after this year. Everyone KNOWS it lost tons of millions, hell just use the search button at TrackFor**. And while Canadians may have fond memories of PT and Jacques, those boys are retirees. This is a TYPICAL IrL marketing ploy....fill up the grid with Opies and Buddies and has beens and them crowds will fill to the brim! :gomer: How is that angle working out at Indy? lmfao.
No, the sad truth is, I won;t be around much longer. I can smell the stink that is the IRL, and when it is gone, I will be too. My work shall be completed, Tony will be broke, and we can begin to rebuild our once great sport.
The IRL: Bad Marketing, Bad Product, Bad Leadership.
NASCAR has so many viewers and so many partners and there’s just lots of options both inside and outside the car. And it looks like fun. … It’s you racing against everyone else really.
. It’s kind of like the Indy 500 every weekend, so that’s a lot of fun as a driver to be part of something important and something people want to watch.
I was commenting on your assumption that that Canadians know better than to show up to see gomerfied spec crap. (post #6, look it up). You imply that they won't show up in Toronto or Edmonton. I provided an example where they did last year, and even gave you a link to show it wasn't something I made up. I didn't say anything about wether or not the promoter made any money.
You also said that the Canadian fans don't care about PT because he has lived outside of Canada for many years now. I guess I should have been more clear. They supported him before when he didn't live there (as recent as last year), why would it change now? Then also supported Villeneuve, who apart for when he was very young, pretty much never lived there. These were both examples of facts that I used to strengthen a point.
Does this make any more sense?
