Indy Firehouse No.
29The owner of the former Indianapolis Firehouse No. 29 at 2302 Shelby St. has put the property up for sale with an asking price of $175,000. The current owner, a car collector who made good use of the garage space, lived in the structure for 16 years before marrying and buying another home, said listing agent Mary Ellen Magee with F.C. Tucker Co. The firehouse was built in the early 1900s, she said, back when horses pulled firefighting equipment. She's marketing the space as a live-work opportunity. It has 3,900 square feet and three large overhead doors on the main level and a remodeled loft-style living space on the second. The property, which is zoned commercial, sits on one-fourth of an acre just a block west of the Raymond Street interchange with Interstate 65. The listing is here.

  • I believe that is the station where they had to cut a hole in the back wall of the bay to accomodate the new snorkel truck. The bucket of which hung over the kitchen table. You did forget the most important any guy would ask, does it come with the fire pole?
  • Fire pole
Yes, it does come complete with original fire pole!
  • Two!
Reading the full listing on the BLC (mibor.com), it has TWO firepoles, his and hers, of course. :)

    Nice post.
  • You should get a commission
Nice post, but seems like a realtor description page more than anything. I hope you are getting a commission for this post should it sells.
