Scotty's is growing again, this time on Geist Reservoir

The popular local chain Scotty's Brewhouse is planning a new outpost in Geist near the corner of Fall Creek and Brooks School roads. Owner Scott Wise describes the restaurant, Scotty's Lakehouse, as "an upscale twist"  on the original. It will include some of the chain's most popular appetizers including dill chips, but the focus will be on organic and locally raised beef burgers topped with produce from local markets. Other menu items will include turkey burgers, sweet potato fries and homemade mac & cheese. It may also include weekend brunch offerings from Patachou, Wise said. At least 75 percent of the beer offerings will be from Indiana craft breweries. The restaurant is taking over space previously occupied by Infusion Restaurant. It marks the sixth location for Scotty's, which has two restaurants in Indianapolis and one each in Muncie, Bloomington and West Lafayette.

    It's about the sixth restaurant to occupy that space, too. I wish him well because we need more options in this area.

    I'd like to know exactly what it takes for a restaurant to become a "chain" and subject to scorn and ridicule. I like Scotty's, but it's got multiple locations right now, and I feel a little unclean about that.

    Scotty's seems to be one of those places you can just place anywhere and people come in droves to enjoy. However, I have a feeling this location may be the end of that winning streak. With all the choices in this area, including 116th & Olio, 104th & Olio, 96th & Olio and now Hamilton Town Center, there is no way he will be able to emulate the same experience in a ghost town center without any office or student population to speak of. I hope he thinks twice about this and finds a way to break his lease if he's already signed.

    If you look at the density of the population within a one mile radius and the average income , it has "winner-winner chicken dinner" written all over it. The place will be packed nightly.

    I'm excited...I hope he doesn't assume the HHI is way high up there, tho and hike the prices; too many businesses have failed in Geist...the fact is, most residents there are families with big homes with empty rooms! who are up to their necks in debt.
    Scotty...keep your pricing down! And keep the dill chips and sweet potato fries coming!

    I welcome Scotty and if he keeps his prices in check he'll be a huge success. We have loved all of the occupants of this space but, outside of the original BellaVita, they have all priced themselves out of the ball park for a casual dinner. Looking forward to giving it a try!

    With your new Fishers address, you can't go wrong! Hey, see if your landlord will give you the same deal as Infusion--pay this month, skip the next, pay this month, skip the...oh, that didn't work out very well. Don't worry though, after BV closes you'll be fine.

      This is good news! More choices in the mid-range can't hurt given the growing population. Two locations at Geist have been deadly though -- that one and the one at Fox & Oaklandon Road that used to house the Fox, then Fireside Grill.

      Bella Vita made it there because it had 1) great food and atmosphere, and, 2) well-heeled ownership. Even though it's a different concept entirely, Scotty's has both of those things, so maybe it will work. Let's hope so.

      Try to keep your Indianapolis address. Now that Fishers has annexed us the taxes will go up so that they can keep up with Carmel. The school taxes have already gone up so that they can build more Taj Mahals. Can you say "round-about"?

        Gary--Hate to burst your bubble, but all those businesses at the corner of Fall Creek and Brooks School Rd already have a Fishers address as they have always been within the boundaries of the town and are not part of the newly annexed areas....oh facts, how they get in the way of rants.

        It was rumored SW was planning to open a Scotty's "Lite" in that strip mall and now those rumors are substantiated; GREAT NEWS! Keep the same drink specials and duplicate the atmosphere of the 96th street establishment, and I think you'll have a winner. Best of luck and success!!

        Scotty's hasn't hit the dreaded "chain" status because it's still locally-owned and focused on Central Indiana (same is true of Patachou, Yat's, Sahm's, SI, and the Rising-Moore establishments).

        Not sure why everyone has so many negative comments. The location has not been too good in the past, but we need another good restaurant option in the "heart" of Geist. It should work good I can stumble home and I frequent Eddy's and BV on a regular basis.

        ...if they essentially duplicate the 96th St location. Keep the same atmosphere, interior design, drink specials, and don't go too crazy overboard w/ transforming the menu to 'high-end' status. Fans's of Scotty's are still going to want to see a core menu of Scotty's favorites. If they 'keep it real' and don't go overboard w/ the 'upscale attitude', it should succeed. If they try to be something they're not, and/or if they throw the 'Geist Tax' on their menu, they will fail just like Infusion and the others before them.

        Hopefully, they will have the Wed. night special 7 buck import pitchers. Best deal in town on expensive brews. Try a Gumball Head pitcher for 7 bucks when it is usually 12 bucks a six pack at the liquor store. Drink up!

        I just hope they offer their signature MoFo Cluck sandwich at this location. And, like so many others have said, don't go too "upscale" with the menu or the prices. I look forward to trying it out!

        i know previous owners have had a downfall with the amount of business, but like mentioned earlier, bella vida did perfectly fine. this is geist, and its called the lakehouse for a reason..summer season is bound to be amazing, and spring is coming up, with scottys opening march 1st. theres already over 14 flat screens - HELLO GAMETIME ! how could you NOT want to eat and chill here.
