  • Broad RippleBroad Ripple Ice Cream Station, or BRICS, is scheduled to open this spring in the former Whistle Stop Deli location on the Monon Trail, at 901 E. 64th St. The locally owned ice cream shop will feature 40 hand-dipped flavors, homemade waffle cones, malts, shakes and a selection of soups and sandwiches. The owners, Nonie and David Vonnegut-Gabovitch and Jennifer and David DuBow, plan to add Wi-Fi, an indoor fireplace and a station for Monon Trail users to fill water bottles.
  • Flatwater Restaurant on the Canal has opened in the former Canal Point Grill space at 832 Westfield Boulevard. The menu features several fish options, small plates like tacos and sliders and appetizers ranging from a Sweet and Spicy Asian Shrimp Saute to Best of the Wurst, an assortment of local meats. The owner is Michael Yount.
  • Scotty’s Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company, a microbrewery and tasting room, is planned for the former Sunflower Market space at 1021 Broad Ripple Ave. Owner Scott Wise also expects the building to centralize corporate operations for Scotty's Brewhouse, including a commissary kitchen and business operations. IBJ first reported on the plans in February.
  • Monon Food Co., a homegrown fast-casual restaurant, is slated to open next to Plump's Last Shot in Broad Ripple, as we first reported in February. The restaurant will take the former home of Hoghead's BBQ at 6420 Cornell Ave. Owner Tim Williams said the restaurant will serve "healthy comfort food" sourced locally whenever possible.
  • Yes!
Flatwater has $1 drinks all day Friday. Right Mike?
  • Flatwater Fresh
A couple was in my office yesterday and said they had dined at Flatwater and was on their way there again for dinner. They said the food was fresh and everything made there was from scratch.
  • Scottys
Scotty's must have gotten a hell of a deal on rent to move their brewing and corporate ops to such a prime retail location in BR.
  • Scotty's
Scotty's didn't have a brewery before, so this is new, as far as the general operations go, it's my understanding that it's currently in a large space above his garage. So this new space will give them a more formal office.
  • Also in Broad Ripple
I don't make it to BR often, but every time I've been there I've noticed that Bleecker Street bar on Guilford seems closed (and dusty), yet it remains furnished and I have never seen a "for lease" sign. Does anyone know what the status on this place is?
  • Bleecker Street
I'm curious about Bleecker Street as well. I vaguely remember it being open randomly a few weeks ago, but no one was inside.

    What is their story?
