LEGO store IndianapolisGreat news for Lego fans of all ages: The privately held Danish company known for its toy construction sets is planning its first Indiana store, at Castleton Square Mall. The roughly 1,200-square-foot shop is scheduled to open in late March or early April, said Julie Stern, a Lego brand relations manager. The stores, which feature play tables and kid-friendly displays, have been known to draw customers from hours away. The store will be the company's 53rd in the United States. Lego, founded by a Danish carpenter in 1932, is now a global brand that has branched out from its trademark interlocking bricks. Its offerings now include robotics kits, video games, four Legoland amusements parks and a business consultancy where managers use Lego bricks to envision potential improvements to their companies. A note for parents: The new Lego store will offer free sets to the first 250 children under 14 on the first Tuesday of every month.

  • OMG!!!!
I'm excited about this......not going to lie.....
  • Excited
I have grown up with Legos and can't wait for this.
  • Yippee
I'm going to take my 4yo son here when it opens but truth be told, I'll play with them more than he will. You never outgrow Legos.
  • Exciting!
Very cool! Can't wait to take the kids.
  • AWESOME
CAN'T WAIT!.. I will have a very excitd 8 year old!
  • Question
    What space will it occupy?
  • Not Going to Lie
I am 30 and I am pumped for this. More so than my own children.
  • Eek!
yeah... this will be the scariest lego store in the world! Castleton is becoming Lafayette Square.
    • Uh-Oh
There goes my paycheck. I go to Chicago a couple of times a year and the Lego store is always my first stop.
    • different venue
It would have been cool to see this go in Circle Center given the tourism/convention business like Mall of America. Perhaps the demographics aren't there.
      • seriously?!?!
Have you ever been to either of those malls? There is an enormous difference between them. If you're that scared of Castleton, then how do you manage to leave your house everyday?
      • Ha Ha
Murph, I was about to say the same thing! I've never heard of anyone calling the Castleton area "unsafe"!
      • stay home
Croner, if you're that scared of Castleton, don't go. There is a large discrepancy between the demographics of Lafayette Sq and Castleton. You're the reason online shopping was invented - now you won't get in my way at the Lego store. Everybody wins!
      • Dissin the Laf2
Dont you dare be hatin on Laf Square. It's a moped riders dream... Ever think about that? Huh?
I think Castleton is a dump. So there!
      • huh?
"a moped riders dream"? Can someone please explain what that means exactly because I really want to know.
      • search for facts
I believe many of you will be interested to know that you are more likely to die in a car crash driving to casleton square than you would be to be a victim of violent crime at one of the other stores.
      • lego fear
croner seems to either be afraid of black people or danish toys. lets say both and enjoy a chance to get more of the 1x4 reds that always turn up missing.
      • Yay for Indy!!!!!
I cannot wait! I have several nieces and nephews who love Legos and I love building stuff with them! I may have to refigure my budget to take full advantage of this!
      • When will it open, where?
It is going to be where the Brookstone was this year. That is according to the info booth in the mall.
Now when will it officially open?
      • Nice!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only grown man that is still in love with Legos!
      • YEA!
        Awesome!
      • COOL!
Cant wait till it opens.WE were planing to go Feb 26 2011 for my sons birthday my mom told me it was opened but i just found out its not.Thats ok were from Muncie but i will be taking him to visit alot he loves LEGOS.Happy 10th Birthday SEAN .....
      • GHETTO
        GHETTO LEGO
      • circle city mall
The reason is that circle city mall is very ghetto anymore. Crime and thugs hang out. Sad but true.
