  1. We have so many roads and bridges that need fixed yet we keep throwing money at (or wanting to) rest areas and highway roadside landscaping??? Fix the roads THEN worry about making rest areas "purty". I do agree with others though - how about semi-privatizing some of them... let fast food operators or gas stations open in some of these; that revenue could help pay for upkeep and remodeling of these facilities (of course it would only be viable along higher-trafficked interstates). Who cares if it's an A-frame or not anyway? Let's get our priorities straight... roads/bridges first, then worry about cosmetics.

  2. With the ICS title on the line, the MAVTV 500 at Fontana drew between 8000 and 10,000 fans ( there were more people there to see Gil DeFerran's 241 mph qualifying run back in the day) and a reported 0.18 rating for the broadcast. OMG! That's even more pathetic than ANY IRL hater could have imagined. What keeps this going is beyond me. I can only guess that they are trying to get to Indy's 100th. Hope TAG Heuer wasn't expecting too much for their meager outlay.

  3. A part time legislature is no excuse. Those of us who served in the Kernsn administration got ethics clearances and reviews. That stopped. And a lot of problems started.

  4. The idea of a drive through on Mass Ave is horrible. The project is tolerable without a drive through that is not necessary. Horizon bank on Alabama is a public bank that does not have a drive up window in the area, but a private credit union that most mass ave patrons cannot use gets to have a drive up window. Also, this project directs all their traffic on a residential street, Saint Clair. The parking lot would cause less traffic issues if there was an additional exit and entrance off of Arch or College streets. Anyone should be able to look at the design and see that it will cause traffic back up.

  5. Yes you are right you should never run from a dog but the best way to get them to release and this works for any breed is hold their nostrils together for about 10 seconds and then put water into their mouth while still keeping the nostrils closed, this instantly makes the dog choke and it has no option but to release the other way is basically stopping the dogs air supply fingers over nostrils and squeezing the dogs windpipe, headlock whatever you want to call it this way is much more dangerous as soon as it releases you need to go before it comes to its senses
