After weeks of talking, Mayor-elect Greg Ballard and the Indiana Convention & Visitors Association have decided to shoot to host the 2012 Super Bowl.

It wasnâ??t so long ago â?? in May â?? that the NFL owners voted 17-15 to give Dallas the 2011 Super Bowl, beating out Indianapolis.

Are Indianapolisâ?? chances better this time?

Read the story.
  • No, we will lose the sympathy vote to New Orleans
  • Ballard will have to appoint a committee leader. And, that leader better be a go-getter. Not one of the old school, conservative croud.
  • The business community is not a bottomless pit of money.

Would these dollars be better used to attract another NCAA level organization that will commit to a multi year agreement to hold large events in our city and relocate its headquarters?
