Suzanne "Susie" Maxwell, who has overseen strategic fundraising efforts at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art for the past seven years, is stepping down, the museum announced Thursday.
The senior major gifts officer for Wabash College fatally shot his niece and her 4-year-old son at their suburban Indianapolis home Wednesday, following a dispute over a family trust worth millions of dollars, before killing himself inside a downtown hotel room.
The organization started in 2012 in Indianapolis and launched in Louisville this year. To date, Brackets for Good has raised more than $1.3 million for charities through its March Madness-themed event.
Wheeler will take over the operations of Backstreet Missions Inc., which was founded in 1995. In recent years, Backstreet has provided tens of thousands of meals for clients and thousands of nights of shelter.
