NatCity name to remain at local branches until early 2010

Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. has converted 240 former National City Bank branches to their new identity,
but the 77 Indianapolis-area locations will keep the old brand name for a bit longer.

PNC closed on its $5.6 billion
merger with National City on Dec. 31, 2008. The company said Monday that it has completed the first phase of its conversion,
switching 1.8 million customers at branches in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida.

Another 1,100 branches—and
3 million customers—have yet to make the switch. PNC has established a timeline for the change: National City branches
in southeast Indiana officially will become PNC locations in February; branches in the rest of the state will wait until June.

PNC has a two-year integration plan.
