Two Purdue University students were hurt in a small plane crash in northern Tippecanoe County late Tuesday afternoon. The students, Anthony Cole and Thomas Williams, both 22, are from West Lafayette. Cole, the pilot, is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Williams was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette in serious condition. The two were flying a World War II-era single-engine plane when it crashed about 4:30 p.m. near Americus.
